Mais j'utilise Vmware sur Mandrake 7.2 et depuis 8.0. Ton problème semble venir de la configuration des module pour Vmware.

En faite, il faut bien comprendre que les service samba et dhcp que Vmware te propose sont les même que les natifs de ta distrib mais dans des versions anciennes.
Il compile et charge un module pour le noyau qui recréer une interface virtuelle pour ta machine (vmnet). Soit il passe au travers et dialogue directement sur le réseau.
Soit ta machine fait le routeur comme si tu avais deux cartes réseau et une machine à coté. D'ailleur je fais de la masquerade avec Vmware pour le faire sortir.

Pour le problème de module essaye sans bridge, puis avec... Ou essaye de changer de noyau, si tu as une version  2.0.4-1142, attention, elle faites pour les noyaux 2.4.x, mais c'est vrai devrait marcher avec le tiens, mais est apparue au moment du 2.2.18 !
