Subject: PTN027 Status

PTN027/PRO/08

PTN027 Status Report for EWOS NM Expert Group
                          Report Number 5.

1 PROGRESS

1.1 Session

- Test Purpose (NCC001) and Session-ATS.MP sent to AOW and
OIW for comment.

- AOW have advised some comments in Yoshimi Teshigawara's
email dated 12 August 1994.

- NCC have updated NCC001 and have sent final versions to
QA and PTN027 PM.

- QA have sent copies of final version of PTS to AOW and
OIW.

1.2 ROSE

- Paper PTTNL011 describing proposed approach for ROSE
testing distributed to AOW and OIW 30 June 1994.

- Both AOW and OIW have accepted the approach recommended
by the EWOS members of PTN027. However it is still necessary
to have a ROSE TSS & TP and ROSE ATS (albeit small) so this
is now in preparation and should complete with AOW and OIW
acceptance by the 31st October.

1.3 ACSE

- ACSE-ATS.MP, ACSE Test Purposes (SEMA01 v5), Selection
of ACSE Test Purposes (SEMA02 v5), Selection of ACSE ASN.1
Test Purposes (SEMA05 v4) sent to AOW to OIW in July and
resent on 9 August due to email problems.

- AOW have advised one comment this week which is
accepted.

- OIW has accepted the EWOS PTN027 work (NMSIG-94/353)

1.4 Presentation

- PRES-ATS.MP, Test Purpose Selection (CSELT013 v5) and
Naming Conventions (CSELT015 v4) sent to AOW and OIW in July
and resent on 9 August due to email problems.

- AOW have advised no comments.

- OIW has accepted the EWOS PTN027 work (NMSIG-94/353).

1.5 CMIP

- CMIP-ATS.MP, Test Purpose Selection for CMIP (ATA017
v1.1), Test Purpose Selection for CMIP ASN.1 (CSL008 v2) and
Naming Convention Hints (CSL017), TSS/TP (FHG007 v1.5) and
TMP (FHG012 v1) all distributed to AOW and OIW in July.

- Comments received from AOW (Yoshimi's email dated 12
August 1994 plus AOW NM N897, N898, N899 and N908). These
are still being worked through by Fhg and ATA by the 21st
October to determine whether they are to be accepted.

- OIW has accepted the EWOS PTN027 work (NMSIG-94/353).

1.6 Common PIXIT

- The Common PIXIT (DEL001) was distributed to AOW and OIW
in July.

- AOW have commented on it (INTC004).

- OIW have accepted it.

2 JOINT MEETING

A joint AOW/EWOS/OIW meeting has been held 13-14 October in
Brussels to agree the final PTS. Subject to acceptance of
AOW comments by EWOS both AOW and OIW intend to informally
accept the PTN027 work in November before the EWOS TA.

3 PROBLEMS

Many contracted TSDs have overspent, particularly those
involved in the CMIP technical work. These will need to make
resource available to the project over the next 2 weeks to
conclude the work by the end of October.

4 OVERALL PLAN

Project is still on track for submission of work for approval
by the EWOS TA in November. The Project Report will be with
the EWOS Secretariat by the 24th October 1994.
