CCITT is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The Plenary Assembly of CCITT which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study and approves Recommendations pre- pared by its Study Groups. The approval of Recommendations by the members of CCITT between Plenary Assemblies is covered by the procedure laid down in CCITT Resolution No. 2 (Melbourne, 1988). PAGE BLANCHE Recommendation T.35 Recommendation T.35 PROCEDURE FOR THE ALLOCATION OF CCITT DEFINED CODES FOR NON- STANDARD FACILITIES (revised 1990) 1 Introduction The binary coded control procedures provide for the inclusion of non- standard facilities in addition to the standard facilities given in the appropri- ate Series-T Recommendations and require a unique code to be allocated to each provider who includes such non-standard facilities. This Recommendation defines the procedure for the allocation of CCITT defined code for non-standard facilities. 2 Structure of CCITT defined code CCITT defined code consists of three parts which are: country code, provider code and provider oriented code. The country code identifies the country, the provider code identifies the provider and the provider oriented code is defined by each provider. 3 Procedure for the allocation of CCITT defined code 3.1 Country code The Director of the CCITT has the responsibility for the allocation and management of the country codes. The country codes should be as given in AnnexA to this Recommen- dation. The code 11111111 in AnnexA should be reserved for further study. The Member countries of the International Telecommunication Union not mentioned in this list who wish to obtain a country code should ask the Director of the CCITT for the assignment of an available country code. In their request, they may indicate the available code preferred. 3.2 Provider code An Administration or a national body designated by an Administra- tion has the responsibility for the allocation and management of the provider code. When an Administration designates a national body, its address and name should be sent to the Director of the CCITT. The procedure for the allocation of the provider code should be defined by each Administration or designated national body. 3.3 Provider oriented code Providers have the responsibility for the allocation and management of each provider oriented code. 4 Disclosure of CCITT defined codes Assignments by the Director of the CCITT of country codes will be published in the Operational Bulletin of the International Telecommunica- tion Union. On request, an Administration or a designated national body may be required to disclose the provider code allocated nationally. Note – Non-standard facilities are not defined in CCITT Recommen- dations but are laid down by Administrations and/or individual manufactur- ers.
