Recommendation G.708 defines the network node interface specifications 
necessary to enable interconnection of synchronous digital hierarchy 
network elements for transport of payloads, including digital signals 
of the plesiochronous digital hierarchy, and more specifically the 
frame structure for multiplexed digital signals at the network node 
interface of a synchronous digital network, including ISDN.
